Working MOM!

I have just recently started working. As a stay at home mom for 5 years, I loved every bit of it. I did at times find myself wishing I had a workplace, but that wish would go away as I had the freedom to do everything with my kids. I would plan so many activities and also have time to clean the house and have dinner ready on time.

Now as I have started working, I find myself wishing for my freedom again. Dinner is not always ready on time, and there's not as much time for all those planned activities with my kids anymore. They are in school now and I do look forward to picking them up everyday and hearing the stories about their day. I look forward to coming home and cleaning up quickly so I can help my daughter with her homework, and then play a couple of board games with her. I look forward to coming home to build train tracks with my son (his favorite activity). I look forward to bedtime stories and snuggles with my kids and then some relaxing winding down time, and snuggling with my husband.

I am about to go to work right now, it's such a beautiful sunny day outside. Makes me wish I could turn back time to before my kids were in school. On a day like this we would spend all morning playing at the park, maybe have a picnic lunch. Come home and make some crafts, play some games, go out shopping. Oh how the time flies by.  I love my kids and can't wait to get home later.

  1. there is something to like from both worlds. i have been off and on working and at home mom. I think my nature though is more of a working person rather than a mom - and I like to eat well so the dinners are important to me, so I hear ya!

  2. I'm most likely going back to work full-time in the next year or so. I empathize with you! Stopping by from the hop. Best of luck to you.

I'm your newest follower and would love a follow back.
    Take care,

  3. I'm stopping by from Mingle Monday. Your kids are adorable! Working vs. staying at home is such a tough decision. There are definite benefits to both. My son is in kindergarten but my daughter is only 3 so I'm staying home at least until she starts kindergarten. It is nice to have the freedom to do what you want when you want!
